 For many, one of the most important parts of their healing journey is telling their story, having some way of processing through their thoughts and feelings, and journalling can be a great way to do this. People keep dream journals, diaries,or if you are like me, just a bunch of random notebooks full of scribbling and doodles.  Sunday drumming circle at Grassroots. A friendly place with music and smiles. Drumming relates to our own heartbeat, which reminds us that we are alive. Different drum beats can make people feel calm, or energized. Rhythm is central to all music, and music is by nature joyful and expressive.  About thirty years ago, a man named Leslie Woodruff managed to succeed in creating a hybrid plant from Asiatic and Oriental varieties of lilies. The result was the beautiful, vibrant pink and white flowers with blooms that faced upward, toward the sky (a trait of Asiatic lilies), and that also had the intoxicating scent characteristic of Oriental varieties. It was because of the way the flowers grow with their faces lifted toward the heavens that they were given the name Stargazer. (from my blog, November 2008) One by One 04/22/2010
 What in the world does an ant have to do with joy or healing? Ants represent strength; they can carry many times their own weight. They are known for their teamwork. They are associated with patience and determination. They are hard workers, who see the job through. And, they've had a couple of great songs written about them... Hurrah!
